Re: EAP version 1.34.0-dev

Thanks for that fast response Martin. Currently I'm using a white list of BSSIDs, which does the trick but isn't exactly elegant: for instance, once "WiFi Available" matches a "Vodafone Homespot", I first need to ensure that it is one of those I trust. I do this by matching the BSSID against my whit...

Re: EAP version 1.34.0-dev

This promises to be become a great update!

Do you plan adding BSSID support for the "WiFi Available" condition and "Enable WiFi AP" action in this release? Public and shared private APs using identical names are becoming more commonplace, requiring use of the unique BSSID to select the desired AP.

Re: Connect to a specific WiFi network based on ssid

Would you be so nice :-) and consider to implement action which will do connecting to a specific WiFi network based on its ssid and bssid? This is quite useful for switching over among many WiFi AP with same name (ssid) based lets say on their signal strength. Second that! Public and shared private...

Re: "WiFi Available" fails in 5GHz band

I dug around some more and found reports about sloppy implementations of 5GHz support on some Android devices. Like some other devices, my Note 4 returns FALSE when calling is5GHzBandSupported(), even though it does support 5GHz. Maybe that's where things start going wrong: wifiManager=callJavaMetho...

Re: "WiFi Available" fails in 5GHz band

Indeed the phone does not include any 5GHz networks in its scan results if WiFi is turned off, except for the one 5GHz network that it was recently connected to. How long it remembers such networks I don't know and is not really relevant to me. Whether this is a bug in the phone FW, desired behavior...

Re: "WiFi Available" fails in 5GHz band

I suspect that the current scan results which the phone is presenting to Automagic simply don't contain that network in the particular situation. I kept the SSID simple and short, without special characters and haven't had problems with any devices in years. The following scenario leads to the probl...

Re: "WiFi Available" fails in 5GHz band

Thanks Martin. The SSID is always visible in the editor. I fully agree and have no explanation either, other than suspecting a Samsung firmware bug. Where does the Automagic condition editor read the WiFi SSIDs from? I even deleted the SSID from the phones cached WiFi list and from the condition. Th...

"WiFi Available" fails in 5GHz band

The condition "WiFi Available" only detects my WLAN when running the router in the 2.4GHz band.
If I run the network in the 5GHz band, then the condition won't detect the WLAN until after I once connected manually to the WLAN.

Android System Playlists: Create/Change/Delete

Would it be feasible for Automagic to provide functions for manipulating system playlists? I would like to synchronize some playlist files with Android's built-in system playlists. There is an App called "Playlist Backup" providing similar functionality in the App store, however that process can't b...

Re: Add unreferenced global variables to maintenance dialog

I fully agree. That would be a huge help already, and I don't want to complicate things. However, that *is* the difficult part. Once you implement this bit, you get the rest almost for free. Let's wait what el jefe says... ;-)
