That looks very much like what I need. I'm sure LL can send broadcast intent, it's just a matter of finding it in the documentation.

unfortunately it doesn't look like 'Press' uses the sync feature. Nevertheless, thanks for directing my attention to 'Request Sync'. I didn't know how much I needed this until now
