The solution, at least on my device: When you write the tag (in the Automagic format) you *must* check "include application record." It and another option were both unchecked by default on my device. Now the tag and flow work fine.

The application manager does not let me specify a URL for which Automagic is the default app. My attempts to trick it via a browser produced no results.

The Automagic log does not show my flow is executed. I deleted all defaults for all browsers and turned off Android Beam and S Beam. Behavior unchanged.

I created a flow with a trigger and an action. The trigger is an NFC trigger. I used the app to write an Automagic tag onto an NFC tag. App reported success. Action plays a sound. All flows except this one are disabled. Samsung Note Edge. Android 6.0.1. Latest Automagic. If I execute the flow manual...

I noticed just now when I was looking at the online documentation pages that my phone browser offered to make the page "mobile friendly" for me. When I clicked it showed me a simpler version of the page but with a white background and black text. I did not try to print. YMMV.
