1) Ensure that your device is properly rooted (apps to verify the root installation are available on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=root%20checker)
2) Ensure in your Root App (like SuperSU, Superuser, CM settings) that Automagic is allowed to execute root commands
3) Ensure that you use an official version of Automagic:
4) Go to the preferences of Automagic, ensure that the Root functions are enabled. Uninstall Automagic itself and reinstall Automagic again.
Important note:
Modified versions of Automagic (pirated versions, versions with removed license check, modified by security products) usually break many of the root functions.
