Google has the possibility to provide a beta program where users can easily opt-in and -out to receive the beta version through the Play Store without having to install a "3rd party app".
The URL to become a tester for Automagic would be https://play.google.com/apps/testing/ch ... dautomagic but the beta feature seems to not be enabled for it.
Or is there a specific reason to not use it?

Re: Use Google's Beta program for EAP versions
I'm aware about the alpha and beta versions in Google Play but I don't like it since I want the users to be aware when they update the EAP build. I also want users to have a simple way to switch between the last two EAP builds in case something is broken so it's possible to verify if it actually worked before the update.
Re: Use Google's Beta program for EAP versions
What about offering this for experienced users who are fully aware of what they are installing to their devices, in which beta programs they are and when an update happens? Just for convenience? In case something breaks, I could still install the previous version from the forum here to check if it worked before…

Re: Use Google's Beta program for EAP versions
I don't want to support both ways since it's more work to publish the APK twice. I'll reevaluate my decision in the future, maybe Google improves the update speed or provides other neat features.

Has this option been reassessed recently?
Re: Use Google's Beta program for EAP versions
I still prefer the current way better but it's something I will reassess again.
