Oneplus 3 Alert Slider Trigger & Condition

Post by snosious » 31 Aug 2016 08:05

Hi, would it be possible to implement an alert slider condition and trigger? I think Tasker can do this. If you have an idea how to do this with existing features this would be fine enough for me.

Thanks a lot :)

What do you mean by alert slider condition and trigger, can you please elaborate?

The Oneplus 3 (and some other devices) has an physical alert slider to change notification mode. It is a 3-state button and a change in that would be the trigger. A condition, in which position the slider is set, would e.g. be usefull to prevent flows from overwriting silet mode when slider is set to silent. Do you need more information? Please tell me. Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't have a device with this feature so was not aware about it. Maybe they just change the Interruptions Mode (also known as 'Do Not Disturb Mode' on some ROMs). Does trigger/condition Interruptions Mode work to detect the changes? Other candidates to detect changes would be trigger/condition Ringer Mode or as a last resort trigger System Setting Changed.

Thanks for your feedback. Ringer Mode and System Setting Changed (could not figure out what entry to use here) do not work. Interruptions Mode is working but can't make a difference between change coming from software (changed profile, quick tile etc.) or hardware. I made a logcat and looked into it. Both time the interuptions mode was changed from 'all notifications' to 'only important notifications'.

I attached two screenshots. I will do more investigation on my own how to read this informations with Automagic but if you have a hint please let me know :)

Can we get an update on this? The physical slider makes the Ringer Mode option useless. No way to automate... :(

You can try my Secure setting logger flow : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7931
Maybe you can catch something that always happen when the hardware switch make the changes.

Wait... false alarm. Actually it is working fine on OnePlus 6, just that the statusbar notification does not change and I thought that meant that the ringer mode remained the same too.
