Yes, only the device name in condition needs to be changed. This triger picks up system broadcasts from the bluetooth adapter which should scan periodically but sometimes seems to skip over.
The best way to get around that would be to use action "control UI" to initiate the bluetooth scan. Again example attached:

Greetings! I am the developer of Bluetooth Detection, I've just learned about Automagic, and I'm glad to see my plugins are working for some who are using Automagic!
As someone pointed out, right now "Nearby", if you are looking for a device by name, isn't ideal - if you've previously paired a device with your phone, then there will be a list of devices to choose from. Once selected, it will detect when that device is nearby. If you don't have/want a device paired, but you want to know it's nearby, then at the moment, Bluetooth Detection won't work for you. I have plans to add the ability to enter the name of any device manually, but I don't have a timeframe for that update.
Note that you can select a device CLASS, so you can set it for ANY device of type "audio", for instance. I know that isn't ideal, but the plugin is always in development, so if anyone has any requests, let me know, and I'll see about adding features as I can.

@Kanetik, cool to meet you here, I wrote you an email concerning your plugin and Automagic. Well, I still can't select paired devices in the plugins dropdown list. I just can choose "any device". Let me know when there is an update available and I will check it immediately.
