Would it be possible in future, to switch gps on/off without root rights, because other similar apps also can, for example on my nexus4?

It should not be possible to do this but I can confirm that an old workaround seems to work again on 4.1/4.2. I will adapt the GPS action in the next update (just ignore the root required warning in the configuration screen of the action). I assume that this is a security issue in Android that will be fixed in one of the next Android updates and that the workaround will stop working again.

Feedback: it's not working on SGS III, Android 4.1.2 (unrooted).
