Support for variables in Google Calendar Event trigger

Post by juvete » 30 Mar 2013 01:36

Hello,

It would be great if we can use variables in the Google Calendar Event trigger, just like they are supported in the Google Calendar Event condition.

I already developed a fully customizable Alarm System based on Google calendar events that:
- disables automatic alarm events on holidays from a Google holidays calendar
- disables automatic alarm events during quiet periods defined in the alarm calendar
- supports manual alarm events that will not be disabled by holidays or quiet periods
- stops the alarm when the alarm event ends
- can snooze for a predefined period
- speaks a custom alarm message at preset time intervals during the alarm event period
- allows setting different alarm period, snooze period, alarm message and alarm message repeat period for each alarm event
- supports plug-in flows for alarm, snooze and stop alarm functions

Currently, I'm working on a Set Up flow which will install the other 4 flows that make up the Alarm System and which will also initialize the required global variables. Thus, I need the ability to use variables in the Google Calendar Event trigger so that the whole Alarm System can be customized without having to change the calendar name in the trigger manually.

Thank you,
Juvete

ME TOO, but more than for just the Calendar trigger: supporting the use of global variables in triggers the way variables are used in actions and conditions.
