Autostart then select launcher/ home hardware key

I have a ROM problem I'm certain I'm not the only one with this problem, but my default launcher won't stick after reboot, i have actually thought of 2 automagic solutions for it but neither of these features appears to exist in automagic. 1 would be to autoselect the set to default option under the chosen launcher either when phone starts or popup prompt shows. The other wold be to open the launcher when i press the home key on my phone, either of these would be automagic wonderful... Thank you.
