Hi Martin,

Is it possible to introduce the possibility to set Emoji (custom font) as icon in Notification on Statusbar?

Best regards,
TC

Hi,

Setting an Emoji from the standard font should already work. Changing the font of a notification is not directly supported by the regular notification API of Android when I recall correctly so it could be complicated to add proper support for this that works on all versions of Android.
I add it to the todo-list to check if it's feasible to add.

Martin

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your reply!

I'm talking about the icon that appears in the statusbar after the title disappears. Right now there is a drop-down list to chose from. It can't be set any custom text or emoji. Maybe there is a possibility to set any text, like some applications do. For example most of the weather applications can display in the statusbar the outside temperature.

TC

Hi TC,

Ahh, now I understand.
The notification icon (the little one displayed directly on the statusbar) can only be set to icons that are directly shipped within Automagic. Android does not allow to set arbitrary user defined bitmaps as the icon.
I can extend the list of icons if you need an icon that also makes sense to be used by other users of Automagic, but I will only add icons that adhere more or less to the Android design guidelines (no colors), otherwise I fear that the icon might cause trouble on future versions of Android.
The number of new icons also has to be fairly small since it will increase the overall download size of Automagic quite fast when I add hundreds of icons.

Regards,
Martin

Hi Martin,

A solution would be to use external icon-packs, like Tasker. The user can install a desired icon-pack (Google Play is full of them) or create its own icons in PNG format and put them in a subfolder. That way the size of Automagic would not increase.

Hi,

Not too long ago I've evaluated ipacks and did not like the way it works since a notification with an icon from an ipack is not displayed by the originating app itself anymore but by the ipack which has some implications about removing/cancelling notifications.
Unfortunately it's also not possible to use PNGs for the notification icon since this particular icon has to be an icon that's bundled within the resources of an app.

Martin

Hi Martin and everyone else,
I'm new to Automagic,so I'd appreciate if you could walk me through setting different icons in the status bar. I'd like to have different icons for each flow that is triggered.
Thanks

Hi,

You can use a different action Notification on Statusbar in each flow and change the icon in the configuration of the action (dropdown list when you edit the action).

Martin

This is just a request for an additional icon for statusbar notifications. You already have the "Sound off" and "Sound on" icons, but you do not have the Vibrate system icon. Could you add that one?
