As per this thread, can I ask if there's an Android API to support this feature in Automagic? Or maybe someone could suggest a clever script?

I'm not sure if either of those are possible. What ever request you throw at Wife runtime and expect the answer in boolean format(1 or 0), the actual answer can be anything between -∞ and +∞. That is the case you'll get an answer at all. There have been some quides which tries to translate the seemingly random answer in human readable format but they all fail to give definite solution. It's all "maybe, maybe not".
