Request: Add trigger for Nougat Data Saver feature.

I'm running a Nexus 6p with Nougat on Project Fi. I currently have a flow set up to disable cellular data while on WiFi and enable cellular data when there is no wifi. I would like to be able to enable the Data Saver feature automatically when I connect to cellular data. This would be fantastic and save me a ton of data.

Thank you

Hi,

Action Set Restrict Background Data State: On could work provided you have a rooted device. If not rooted, you could try to use action Control UI to toggle the setting in the user interface.

Martin

Wow, duh. I don't know why I didn't see that option. I even searched "Data". Set Restrict Background Data State: On does the trick. This is great, thanks!

How do we remove the resulting warning triangle on the status bar?? I tried "Remove Notification" action but it has no effect regardless of which text string I try.

When using this feature, I do not get a warning triangle. Just the data saver icon.

In Marshmallow a triangle containing an exclamation mark appears on the far left of the status bar. If you scroll down the notification it shows the text strings "Background data restricted" and "Touch to remove restriction".
