Download A-GPS data?

My understanding is that GPS can utilise "Assisted GPS" (A-GPS) data to significantly reduce the Time To First Fix (TTFF). Basically the data includes a map of where the GPS satelites are located at that time, which means that once the device can see one or two satellites, it can work out much more quickly where the other satellites are located and so get a location fix.

There are Android apps (such as GPS Status & Toolbar - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... gpsstatus2) which can download the A-GPS data.

My question is whether Automagic can/could do this? (If so, I could set up a regular flow to update the A-GPS data on my phone).

There is some technical information here, though I'm not sure if it is in any way useful: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1454 ... a-gps-data

Hi,

You could use the Java features of action Script to send the extra commands to the location manager.
I'll likely not add the feature with a new action to Automagic since it sounds like a very unofficial feature.
