I have recently purchased a Google Chromecast and I can now cast the screen of my phone to my TV. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S8+, and the Samsung version of casting seems to be called Smart View. It can be switched on and off in the handset's quick settings menu.

Would it be possible to create an Automagic trigger that activates when this is switched on or off?

(The reason that I ask is that I would like to automatically stop many of the notifications that I get while I am casting, as they appear on my TV, and - in one instance - kill the app that I am casting).

The notification appear on status bar? Then just use trigger : Notification on Statusbar Displayed.
Or if you want go through the setting, try to find the setting that switch change, use Trigger : System Setting Changed.

Unfortunately nothing seems to show on the Status Bar (even though there is a message added to the Notification list).

I'll have a play with System Setting Changed and see if I can do anything with that, thanks.

I've been through all the options for System Setting Changed, and unfortunately I can't find any setting that relates to casting (or "Smart View").

I'd still love to be able to automatically configure my phone based on whether I'm casting, so my feature request stands.
