Not recognising incoming notifications

Post by Holo0815 » 18 Oct 2015 18:21

Hi,

Automagic often does nothing when a Pushover message is incoming.
I use the "notification on statusbar displayed" trigger.
It seems that this only happens when I'm on wifi and the display is off.

Flow attached.

Thanks for help.

Hi,

Notification detection on newer Android ROMs should be quite reliable. Could you please enable Debug Log and Log to SD card in the preferences of Automagic, wait until you missed a notification (write down the time as good as possible) and then send the log to me: on the flow list: menu->Manage->Log, menu->Send log.
Does Pushover send the notification when wifi and display is off or might it display the notification only at the time the display is turned on?

Regards,
Martin

Debug log and Log to SD is on now.
I know when there is a notification, because I have a "pager" which receives the messages too.
And when I look on my phone I see the notification LED flashing red (red is for Pushover).
But Automagic doesn't start.
When I turn the display on it starts immediatly.

BUT: When "5310" isn't in the message, Automagic starts the action for that (plays sound).
Therefore the problem have to be after the first condition.

I'm now trying with turning display on after the first condition and not in the end.

The problem persists.

Today it happened again.
In the morning at 10:38:41 AM the phone was in network data mode (LTE) and all worked fine.
At 14:38:38 it was in WiFi and nothing happened when a Pushover message was received, except these without "5310" in the text.
As you can see in the log file, as recently as I turned on the display at 14:38:57 Automagic began to work.

I can't send the log via Automagic because I have to cross out sensitive data.

Log file attached. Shortened to today only.

Thanks for the log!
I have the suspicion that the device is in deep sleep mode and did not wake up long enough to give Automagic a chance to handle the message.
Would you be interested to get a custom build of Automagic to test a fix for this problem?

Martin
