Provider 'network' disabled

Post by danyver » 04 Feb 2016 17:33

Hi I'm evaluating your product and I've had a problem with my very first flow: I am using a 'Init location variable' and according to the selected provider I have these behaviors:
  • Passive: timeout
  • GPS: works if GPS is on
  • Network: I have an error reported in this case: "Provider 'network' disabled"
  • High accuracy: timeout
My best choice would be network but I do not understand what "Provider 'network' disabled" means and how to solve it.
I am running automagic on a Samsung Galaxy S4 by AT&T on top of Android 5.0.1 thank you

Hi,

Provider 'Network' means that the device should use WiFi and cell towers to determine your location. The location settings of the device have to be either set to 'Battery saving' or 'High accuracy' for this to work.
The four experimental options in action Init Variable Location under Location Provider work better on some devices since it uses the more modern Google Play services to determine the location.

Regards,
Martin
