Do Not Disturb Status Bar Icon

Post by taykiin06 » 06 Oct 2016 14:45

Good morning,

New user of Automagic and was wondering about a flow sequence that will remove this icon from the Status Bar. I have a Verizon Note 7 (PHE firmware-not rooted unfortunately) and hate the way I receive certain notifications. For example, the 3 games that I frequently play will vibrate when I'm prompted about new activity pertaining to the game. Unfortunately, there is no option w/in these 3 games to disable Sound/Vibration but I still want to be notified when I have to get into the game and interact. I don't like that it vibrates when this activity occurs so my solution for now is set my phone to Do Not Disturb. With in this mode, I have it set to receive all calls/texts with sound and vibration and my game notifications work as they should without vibrating but hate the icon in the top left.

Is there a flow that I could set up to make this go away or a way to revert off Do Not Disturb and make these 3 games not vibrate when I get a notification from the game(s)?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Brad

If you have Android 6+, you can disable it with the UI Tuner. You do not need root to do it. Here's a tutorial to enable it in Android Nougat and in Marshmallow: https://www.google.com.ar/amp/www.howto ... s-bar/amp/

Once you have enabled it, there's a new button at the bottom of the settings menu. You click it and then, there's an option called "Status Bar". There you can select which icons do you want to see on the status bar. You can disable the 'Do not disturb' icon.

Sorry for my incomprehensible English

Hmmm, thanks for the input but it seems that is only available for certain model phones. Doesn't seem to work on my Samsung Note 7. Thank you tho for the info.

Maybe it happens because Samsung has its own personalisation: TouchWiz. The method it works with pure Android or in a personalisation that's not intrusive, and TouchWiz isn't on that description.

As far as I know, without root, there's no way to do it. You can ask to an administrator or search for a third app.
