Action "Set Lock PIN/Password" no longer remembers the PIN across system restart.

I can not reproduce this one. What device/Android version are you using?
Did you clear the data in the system settings or uninstall/reinstall Automagic when this happened?

It appears to have started since the upgrade to 1.20.0. Should I try reinstalling?

I haven't uninstalled or cleared, just upgraded.

Saving/loading works for me on an S3 with 4.1.2.

Please try to do the following before you uninstall/reinstall Automagic:
-enable 'Debug Log' in the preferences of Automagic
-create or edit an action Set Lock PIN/Password
-set the pin
-press save
-press back (to go to the flow list)
-menu->Manage->Log, menu->Send Log (send to info@automagic4android.com)
At this point the log might contain an exception when saving fails for some reason.

-menu->Manage->Stop Service
-menu->Manage->Start Service
-menu->Manage->Log, menu->Send Log (send to info@automagic4android.com)
This should show an exception when reading fails for some reason.

Thanks
Martin

I finally got around to dealing with this. I'm sending three logs. The first two were created as you described in the previous post (with the log cleared beforehand each time). The third was created by clearing the log, then rebooting the phone (since the problem only appears after a boot).

I haven't tried reinstalling yet.

Here's a very strange thing: after creating those logs, I created a new "Set Lock PIN/Password" action (#2) in a different flow (B) than the one having the problem (A). When I rebooted, #2 in B remembered its PIN but the original "PIN" action (#1) in A did not. I tried deleting #1 from A and creating a new one in its place (#3) in A, but it still didn't remember its PIN after a boot while #2 in B still did. I deleted #3 from A and reused #2 in place of #3 in A. After another boot #2 remembered its PIN in B, but *not* in A. Since what is now happening is that the same action is being used in both flows, I don't see how it's possible that the PIN appears in one but not the other.

Anyway, the email containing the logs will have the same subject line as this thread. I'll be sending it shortly.

Unfortunately the logs contain no error and I was not yet able to reproduce this bug. It seems that either writing or reading silently fails or that the system automatically restores an old file when the system is rebooted.
Perhaps it's somehow related to the names of the actions. Could you please send the flows to me, so I can try to reproduce the bug with the same action names (on the flow list: menu->Manage->Log, menu->Send Log, and answer yes when asked about attaching the flows).
How many digits are you using in the PIN?

It should definitely not be possible that the PIN is remembered in one flow but not in another flow when the exact same action with the same name is used in both flows since only one instance of the action exists in the system.

Thanks & Regards,
Martin
