Automated service starting/ending

Hey there! Been trying like the devil to make this work, but for some reason it hasn't. I will add a caveat that I'm entirely new at this.

I wish to use a service like MightyText, and I want it to fire up when I connect it to a power source. This works quite well, it fires up easily. The problem is that killing the app when unplugging it just makes the service restart it, and I've yet to be able to find a way to kill the service, from Kill App and such, to using am force-stop <com.texty.sms> found here, but it's just not working.

Any thoughts or ideas, something I've missed?

I'm not an US citizen and therefore a default target of the NSA.
So being as paranoid as a US Homeland Security agent I'd decided NOT to use that service for that single reason (beside others):

Hi,

Force-stop should work when you remove the angle brackets <> in the command.
The command to force-stop the app in action Execute Root Command should look like this: am force-stop com.texty.sms
