Calendar: set off actions at reminder time not at event time

Post by choo » 22 Nov 2014 11:26

Hi there,

I'm struggling with my flows for calendar events triggers.

I have meetings that start say at 3pm. For instance, I set an event in my calendar for 15:00 and a reminder at 14:30. This event will launch multiple actions such as wi-fi (so I can check the bus schedule) and change the audio volume so that I can hear the alarm because of the loudness change. All the actions work well except that they all start at the event time and not at the reminder/alarm ringing time which defeats the purpose of the flow. Currently, I have to set up the time in my calendar at the reminder time and not the actual meeting time. What can I change to remedy to this situation?

Thanks for your help.

Kind Regards,

choo

Hi,

There's currently no option to directly execute a flow on a calendar reminder. You could use the offset in the trigger Calendar Event to execute a flow a few minutes before the event starts but the offset will be the same for all events which is probably not what you want.
You could use trigger Notification on Statusbar Displayed and execute a flow when the reminder is shown on the phone.

Martin

Thank you Martin for chiming in. I always wonder how you do it to take care of us all the time ;) You're a hero to me.
I'll try your suggestions as always.
