The only real method to save battery for sensors is to avoid using the sensors when not required. It depends on use case whether this is possible or not so it's difficult to give good advice.
For example when you use the pressure sensor to detect when you are using the elevator at work, you could disable the entire flow when you disconnect from the work wifi and enable the flow again when the device connects to the work wifi. You could use trigger speed only when the car bluetooth is connected.
I could also add support for the special 'proximity screen off wakelock' which can be useful in some cases and is provided officially since Android 5. I'll add it to the todo-list.
