I am using Mobile Network Type trigger but the variables mobile_network_type and previous_network_type are returning null.
My device is a Galaxy S4 with android 4.2.2

A short test worked on my device.
Are you executing the flow manually? Variables provided by the regular trigger are not available when the flow is executed manually.
For testing purposes, you can also initialize the variable mobile_network_type with a condition Mobile Datenetwork Type in the flow (everything unchecked) and continue the flow on the false-branch of the condition.
