Android 4.4: can't uninstall app

I'm on Android 4.4 (Nexus 5) and I can't uninstall Automagic. I was using the 10 day trial version but decided to go with Tasker instead.
When I try to uninstall, Android says "Can't uninstall because this package is an active device administrator". I tried deactivating Automagic in "Settings -> Security -> Device Adminstrators", but Android keeps the checkmark and Automagic stays activated as device admin. I also removed the checkmark for Automagic under "Settings -> Security -> Notification access". I stopped the Automagic service, uninstalled root tools and removed the "Device admin functions" checkmark in Automagic's settings. Nothing seems to work, it simply won't let me uninstall.
Does anyone else have this problem or know a solution? Help please. :(

Hhmm... seems this problem is not limited to Automagic. I can't deactivate any other device admin either. But I force-uninstalled Automagic using Titanium Backup now.

Would still like to know if anyone else has this problem though ...

I did not hear about this problem before, it works on a Nexus 5 here.
Did you convert Automagic to a system app?

No, I didn't. I haven't converted any normal apps to system apps. Maybe I have too many device admins ... :?

I believe, this is some android bug. I had the same problem with tasker on my previous phone. I do not know exactly what I did to fix that but eventually I managed to uninstall it.

I'm not sure how device admin settings would be affected by this, but you could try manual uninstalling by deleting all the data and apk from tasker.
