Notification for certain triggers/actions but not others

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the help with my other notification issue, but this time I think it is really an issue within automagic. I've got a couple of triggers. For the sake of simplicity the two main triggers I'm using are:
(1) A timer based trigger that will execute moving/deleting of files every hour between 8:00 and 21:00
(2) Phone Cell GSM that will execute a flow when I'm "around the office"

I recently found that you could see the history of android notifications (create a shortcut to "Settings shortcut->Notifications"). In that list I see two notifications that are always recurring "Delete" and "Move starting". No other action causes a notification to be listed.

I've attached the log and the notification history screenshot

Thanks
Loris

Hi Loris,

Interesting shortcut, I didn't know this one yet.

On my device all actions posting a notification are shown there like the ones posted with action 'Notification on Statusbar' or the copy/move/delete actions.
What kind of notifications did you expect to show up in this list that are currently not shown?

Regards,
Martin

Hi Martin,

Indeed, that shortcut is really a nice one ;).

Sorry for not being clear of what I'm actually reporting; my bad. What I'm trying to say, is that the copy/move/delete actions show a notification while all the other actions don't (e.g. toggle airplane mode or sleep). I can understand that a notification might be useful if there are a lot of (big) files to copy (which might take some time), but in my case the notification is just "annoying" or rather something that shouldn't be appearing.

If displaying the notification is really by-design, would it be possible to make the notification optional? A toggle on the action would be ideal (i.e. more generic), but a global flag would suite me just as well.

Thanks
Loris

Hi Loris,

Turning off the notifications for copy, move and delete is currently not possible but I can add an option in an upcoming release.
You could completely turn off notifications for Automagic by long-clicking a notification, selecting App info and unselecting Show notifications.
I would not recommend to do this since it will also suppress notifications of action Notification on Statusbar and notifications when a flow fails etc.

Martin

Hi Martin,

If you could add an option for the upcoming release that would be great! I'm not planing on turning off the notifications from automagic ;), like you said, failures wouldn't show up anymore.

Thanks again and grüessli

Loris

Sorry for a little off topic, but is that notification shortcut a 4.3 or 4.4 feature as I don't see it on my 4.2?

I finally (re)found the original article where I got it from [http://lifehacker.com/how-to-pull-up-ol ... 1484838610].

It seems it's a feature available as of android 4.3 and up.
