Hey !

Yesterday my samsung s3 updated to 4.4.2. However, now my periodic location update fails ie it only works when location services is on whereas it used to work before without it being on. Is there a way to remedy this since having my location services on eats into my battery ?

What location service setting do you mean, the one in the system settings->location services->access to my location?
The device should only allow Automagic to get new locations when this setting is turned on. Did your device provide a location even when this setting was off?

What location provider are you using in the periodic location update trigger, Network or an experimental one?
