Receiving emails

What methods do folk use to trigger/control flows based email (Gmail) receipt? Do you use a separate email client that supports the Locale plugin spec/intents (if so which one?)? Or base it on detecting notifications from Gmail in some way?

I want to send a device an email with some unique "trigger message" in, say, its title and use that to trigger/control flows...

I have been using SMS, but that's "send and pray", and with email I could have the receiving device send an ackowlegement

Anyone got any sample flows?

K-9 and AquaMail both support responding to incoming emails, filtered by misc criteria, such as sender, topic or mail contents. BlueMail support says that support is planned, but hasn't moved yet.
