Suppressing Flash SMS (aka Class 0 SMS) Screen Popup

Flash SMS (also called class 0 SMS) pop up on the screen without user interaction.
Is there any way to prevent them from doing that?
I can filter them by sender because I only get them from my mobile provider, but how can I prevent them from popping up automatically?

I don't know of any automagic way to do this. Maybe there's a special app provided by your carrier to disable them. You could try turning off CELL BROADCAST in your message settings and see what happens. What info is in the messages?

I'm not aware about a system setting to prevent such popups and I never really tested the behavior of such messages but I would guess that there's no way to block them with Automagic. You could probably close the dialog with action Control UI but it will still be shown for a short duration.
Contact your provider, maybe they can stop sending such messages.

Thanks for the responses!
The messages contain balance notifications for my prepaid plan, which I actually do like to get. I just don't like their intrusiveness.
Closing them with Control UI works and is good enough for my purposes. I don't mind that they still show up for a short time.
