Removing Automagic from Notification Shade

I like to keep the notication shade as clean as possible, and by default Automagic displays an ongoing notification. The way I use Automagic, I have no flows that themselves generate notifications.
If I choose to set the Android 6 App Notifications setting to Block all for Automagic, it removes Automagic from the notification shade, but
1. Will Automagic still run ok?
Are the only downsides that:
2. I won't be able to tell if Automagic has been unloaded for some reason (which hasn't happened to me yet as far as I know)
3. I won't be notified of an error from Automagic/one of my flows (like too many executions in a short time)? In which case I think the only workaround is I could look in the Automagic log and/or temporarily re-enable notifications for it in Android settings if I suspect errors, right?
4. There is no other way (say via a trigger/flow) that I could be informed of an error from Automagic if the notifications are blocked as above, is there?
