Exit then kill an app (two steps)

Post by Gord » 29 Apr 2016 16:27

Hi Folks
I am trying to use Automagic to exit TuneIn Radio based on a Bluetooth Disconnect (from my car audio) trigger. There is no problem with the KillApp action but annoyingly TuneIn Radio insists on playing out its buffered content even after the application is "Killed". I tried to find its heart into which to drive a hardwood stake but that was going to do too much collateral damage so I thought I'd ask the forrum. TuneIn Radio has an "exit" function under its DropDown menu which does the job (stops the buffer playback then kills the app) but it is two distinct screen taps to get it to do this. .......Any thoughts??????

Is your phone rooted?

If so, you could try using Execute Root Command am force-stop on TuneIn. I expect that would stop it immediately, rather than after its buffer empties.

Thanks for your reply Phillip (You were Quick!) My phone is not rooted (sadly)......:-( It is mine but must reside on two corporate networks. On one it is an MSExchange client and the other network is part of a University/Hospital. Rooting is simply not an option but thanks again for the idea.
Best......
