Keeping LED active

Post by mikeuys » 27 Oct 2016 23:39

Hello, so instead of using a different app, i was trying to set up a flow to keep the LED on when the battery is being charged. So far, what i did was setup the LED flicker 10s by 1ms to keep it on mostly afterwards when i turn off the display my LED works as intended, the problem comes when i get another notification, when i turn off my phone display off again the light is no longer active which i can assume is suppose to be the case. I was wondering if there is anyway to allow the notification LED to stay active even after receiving others. I was thinking maybe every time i get a notification to rerun the flow so it's back active, but i figured that would be a bit much. Also, was wondering if keeping the LED on can be used or would i have to put in a feature request?

Posting a notification is the only official way to activate the led so a workaround that posts the notification again when the screen turns off could work.
Some devices also allow to activate the led by writing values into a system file. The required values and the file usually differs per device model, I don't have a list. Search the internet to see if you find something that works on your device. Using this method probably requires root.
