Restore Audio after Store Audio returns one invalid data

Hello,

I created a flow to set some volume intensity values with Set Volume.

Input Data: Alarm =06, DTMF=08, Music=08, Notification=06, Ring=07, System=08

Entry in the INPUT DIALOG: 060808060708

Once the values were validated, I call a Save Volume for each of the values from Input Dialog.
At this point I have a Notification on Screen, and all input data is correct.

To check if correct values were really loaded, I issue immediatelly a Restore Volume.

When checking with DEBUG and Notification on Screen, DTMF comes up as a 13 instead 08 as expected. All other values are correct. No manual change was done to neither values.

Question: Where or why DTMF was picked up as 13 when 08 was requested.

Thank You
Husky

As always, I guess the
problem is between the chair and the keyboard.

Good morning Husky!

I had similar problems! Perhaps this helps you a little further.
Not all volume settings can be set separately. Depending on the device and device settings, groups are formed.

As an example, just tested (Nexus 7, Android 7.1.1, LineageOS):
- Notification + Ring + System
- DTMF + Music
- Alarm
- Voice Call

Maybe you have a similar effect on your device.
One of my devices even changes the volume independently after a telephone call.

I wish you success (or a better help) :)
Peter

Hi there Scotty,

Thank You for the quick reply.

My reply at this point is not an answer to your suggestion. I'm running a lot os tests trying to figure out, based on your reply, what AutoMagic or Android is doing with the numbers.

Every time I enter a sequence, I got some weird return that does not add up as per your observation.

Some internals of AutoMagic would perhaps help to understand hows Set Volume, Save and Restore work.
Internals some time explains a lot. I doubt that this would be made public.
With IBM I had all Data Areas, control block layouts for the Operating System, so it was a walk in the park troubeshooting assembler programs and sometimes OS issues.

So, I'll try to make some sense of this weird tests I'm running. If you want or can I can send you the flows and see what would you come up with. If so, let me know an email or a way to get this to you.

I'm not asking you to solve the problem an I'm bever implying it. :D

I tend to agree that Notification + Ring + System mixup creates some weird stuff. Somehow the values seem to be tweaked internally. I wish I had a bit of internals on this.

Anyway, I'll get back you as soon as I find some pattern.

I'm also opening another query in the forum. This one depending on the response could be of interest for Martin for future inclusion into AutoMagic. Not sure it can be done.

Sorry the lengthy balh-blah-blah.

Regards from Tornado Alley.

Scotty,

I'm sorry.

I was referring to the mail you sent me with the:
As an example, just tested (Nexus 7, Android 7.1.1, LineageOS):
- Notification + Ring + System
- DTMF + Music
- Alarm
- Voice Call
Sorry for me being so messed up. Old age, memory fails, can't find my glasses that are already in my nose... and no I'm not senile or with Alzheimer yet. Trying hard though.

Will get off your hair.

Best Regards

Husky

Bingwu,

Dang it !!!

No wonder the bear is screamming at me in your profile picture. I really appologize for the mix up.

After a whole day na night messing with AutoMagic trying to understand how things work, I usually get confused.

Please forgive this braindead of me for making the confusion. Will be more careful in the future.

Regards to all
