Re: set default app
I remember stumbled upon this when I am editing something in the /data/system folder (of course need root). But i forgot where it is now, can't find it anymore. So far, it seems there is no way to set the default app, but we can reset the default apps by resetting it at the app info (not practical though).
Need to know what you want first. Most likely can be done not by editing the default app. If let say you want to open certain url link in Chrome, some in youtube app, some in certain mobile app, you can redirect the link using Action Open in Browser. Use predefined app and defined which app should open that link. I make a kind of url redirector, but have digress so long already, never finish it since it is partially working already.
For other app, you can try start activity and try to find the possible intent that you can past the extra to it.
