Is there a workaround to killing foreground processes without root or is the security restrictions blocking all access? I have no issues killing background apps but would like to kill foreground also. I asume its not possible due to security policies however

You can use show home screen then kill the app. Killing current running app directly is restricted by android, unless you have root.
