What can I put in the Speech Output text string to insert a delay between reading variables? Is this possible, or do I have to use multiple speech actions with a sleep between each one?

Separate lines slows it down a bit.

I suspect you might want more control than this though.

If you want fine control, yes, multiple speech output with multiple sleep are needed. But if you want only some delay, usually full stop and space (and new line as suggested by Micky) will slow it down for most TTS engine.
