I'm trying to create a flow that dims screen lower than zero, ir do a type of colour filter on screen. How will I best achieve this, will set_system_setting then dim_screen work?
Thanks

I'm not aware about any system settings that will lower the screen brightness below zero/filter the screen. On Nougat you could activate night mode by toggling the secure system setting twilight_mode (see the help page of action Set System Setting when you are using the EAP version of Automagic).
You could build a custom widget with a dark transparent color that covers the entire screen to get some kind of a basic screen filter (see Menu->Custom Widgets and actions Show Custom Widget Overlay/Hide Custom Widget Overlay).

Martin

Try to use Screen Filter. It works perfectly with Automagic as a Plugin.

If you are rooted...
CF.lumen is by far the best app to remove blue light. It doesn't simply put an overlay over the screen, it actually adjusts the colors. CF.lumens settings are really good. There's almost no need to automate anything with Automagic because it has every option you will need. It does come with Automagic plugin functionality if needed.
Lux Auto Brightness is the best (maybe only) app that allows the brightness to be set below zero. Be careful of Lux's Automatic and Smart modes though, they are not very good. It works best if you leave everything on Manual, put a shortcut on the home screen, and click the shortcut then use the slider to adjust the light level yourself. Lux also has a Automagic plugin that works great.
I use both. They are awesome for nighttime reading to keep your circadian rhythm from getting jacked up.
