EU camera law enacted on Android 10

Hello,
After upgrading to Android 10 I noticed that the action TAKE PICTURE was making the shutter sound activate.
Apparently it's an EU directive. You can't turn it off in camera settings now. It's seems Japan has it too.
Samsung's Bixby Routines workaround for the camera app:

Automagic workaround for the TAKE PICTURE action:

Hope this helps.

I wonder if custom ROM also forced to do so. I am preparing to flash Havoc 3.0 android 10 tonight. Will see if that is the case.
As I know the shutter sound is already being imposed for years. But a lot of camera apps have the feature to silence the sound. If you have root, the other indirect way to do it is to rename the camera sound in the /system ROM, or replace the file with silence sound file.

Turns out you are correct. At RR pie 9.0, there is no sound produced by the action Take Picture. Now in Havoc 3.0 Android 10, there is sound and is controlled by the media volume. So reducing the media volume to 0 will make it no sound.

I never knew of this until Android 10. I would have noticed it before. I'm silencing it by system volume not media. I can understand the privacy concern but it's not the sound that a phone's camera makes.
The nanny state at work.
