FTP site not working

hello. I have a problem with automagic. I have set up a ftp sever in my router(asus rt n56u) and the giles are stored on a usb drivr connected to the router. I can access the server both locally and remotely in any browser or ftp client. Whenever i try to set up a flow to access the ftp in automagic I get an access denied error. I cannot browse any folder copy or read any file on the server. I really don't know what the problem is. Any idea?

Hi,

Browsing the FTP server from Automagic works for me using the username and password you have posted.
Please double check that the user name and password is written correctly and that the keyboard of your Android device did not automatically write some letters in upper case or insert some spaces at the beginning or the end of the text fields.

Hi. I had double checked that already. Thats not the Problem. Anyway. Somehow it started to work. I can upload files now, given I enter the full path manually. if I browse the server I can see only the root folder but no subfolders. Well, no biggy
Will there be an action to create a folder on the ftp server? That would be my next wish.
Things would be simpler maybe if I could find a free third party plugin to access ftp sites.

Hi,

The action FTP Upload Files should create directories on the server when a directory is copied recursively.
I see that your FTP server does not support one of the list directory options Automagic is internally using so it can only see the directory on the topmost level. I'll try to fix this issue.

I've implemented a workaround for this issue for the next version of Automagic (becomes also available in the EAP version of Automagic 1.28 available soon in the EAP forum).
You can activate the workaround in menu->Manage->Preferences->Workarounds and select FTP List Files Compatibility.

Tried the new EAP VERSION and ftp access works like it should. However I wonder if it's possible to add an action to list The contents of a disrectory on the server and store it in a list variable so I can which files are already on the server. Thank you

Adding such a function should be possible. I'll add it to the todo-list. May I ask how you would like to use the function once it becomes available? Do you want to create some sort of synchronization utility?

Not really that advanced. For now just a one way 'sync' to backup the pictures I take everyday to my ftp server. But I need to check first the ones that already exist not to upload them again(since there's no skip overwrite feature). Right now I'm doing something complicated. Writing the name of every uploaded file in a txt file wich I also upload to the ftp and when there's another copy operation I check the new files against the ones written in tbe txt. Sorry if I bored you. Did a bit oF research and I saw that automate by llamables has this feature already. Other than that,awful program

PS: also , create new folder is a must for my cataloging purposes. I realize that im just one user and these aren't wide spread requests...but when you have the time... thx
