text to speech not initialized error

Suddenly speech output action doesnt work anymore. Tells me that tts engine could not initialise and ask if its installed but it is; any suggestion? Thanks

Hi,

Maybe the TTS engine got into a strange state. Rebooting the phone sometimes helps when the TTS engine does not work anymore.

Maybe the installed data of the TTS engine is in a corrupt state or some voices are missing. You could try to clear the data of the TTS engine in system settings->Apps->Google Text-to-speech Engine and download the voices again in system settings->Accessibility->Text-to-speech output->Settings->Install voice data (exact location depends on Android version/ROM).
