thanks for your help.
I am not too keen on installing an xposed module, so I´ll give that a pass for now. Single click and long click will do for me. I have created an overlay widget, so I can give the long click multiple uses.

Maybe you should consider giving automagic some "pressy" features (switching the sound to stay on, even when a headphone is plugged in, adding double/triple/long click triggers for media button) to increase the possible user base.
Not sure though, how many potential users that would be.
