Multi-User on Marshmallow

Post by juniormajor » 28 Oct 2015 20:51

Hi out there,

i want to use Automagic to set brightness while another (restricted) user is logged on. The trigger is an http-request onto the android device. The trigger is fired, and the workflow is started, but ... Yeah the settings are provided to the user running the Automagic service, but not the user actually logged in. Immersive mode also has an strange behaviour in this scenario.
Screen on/off works as expected.

Is this an 6.0 issue or an general?

Hi,

This is an issue in general. Settings and user interface are isolated for each user so you would have to install/start Automagic also for the other user. To my knowledge Google does not offer any APIs for apps to change settings on the behalf of another user and the permissions to do such things are limited to the system itself but not granted to third party apps like Automagic.

Regards,
Martin
