QS Tiles bugs
Hi
I've been using quick settings tiles for some time now, and found some bugs for reporting
1. Recently (in the past 2 days) I receive an error for changing the tile, telling me "Tile is not available". The trigger for tile is set and working. See attached screen shot
2. Before such thing happened, there was a bug that changed other tiles along with the desired one, but it could be fixed by closing and re opening the notification bar
3. I've read your response somewhere that long tap on tile is not a part of API. However I'm using another app which offers some QS tiles, and they are configured by long tap on them.
Please help if I'm doing something wrong in item one because I use it very frequently.
Thanks

Re: QS Tiles bugs
Update: about bug 1: it will be resolved if all tiles are used in order. If one tile with lower index is disabled, the error shows up
Re: QS Tiles bugs
Hi,
Bug 1 and 2 should be fixed with the next update.
What ROM are you using and what app provides the long-tap on the tile? Maybe I'm missing the relevant part of the API.
Regards,
Martin

Hi Martin
Thanks for reply
Point no. 3: I'm using tile extension app on pixel XL. Link below.

Re: QS Tiles bugs
Thanks for the link to the app!
An app can tell the system to provide one general user interface to configure the apps tiles so long clicking one of the tiles will open this configuration page. Unfortunately Android does not pass any information that allows to check which tile was actually clicked so this mechanism can not be used to provide the long-click feature for each tile (at least on official Android ROMs).

Re: QS Tiles bugs
I see... Well that's not good. But since custom QS is new most likely it will be added in future
Re: QS Tiles bugs
Martin,
I think I may have found another bug in the QS implementation.
Sometimes the tiles seem "stuck".
For example: when updating tile 1, if tile 2 exists, tile 1 gets "stuck". Seems like things like active/inactive do not work. Is this a bug or a limitation to the API? Also is there a recommended method of updating several tiles? All at the same time or only as needed. I cannot seem to isolate the bug. Only know sometimes it does not work.
I am on Pixel XL.
Thanks.

Re: QS Tiles bugs
Hi,
This bug might be related to the one I've fixed. Please let me know if you can still reproduce this issue when the next EAP version is released (in the next few days).

Re: QS Tiles bugs
Martin,
Thanks for your reply. I have now checked the latest EAP (1.33.0-dev, 19 Feb 2017 16:39) and I can confirm the bug is still there. The text is updated properly but it is the active/inactive state that is not updated.
I am on a Pixel XL, also tried on a Nexus 6P. Same results.
Regards,
Sam.

Re: QS Tiles bugs
Hi,
Could you please post a to info@automagic4android.com to reproduce the issue? Either I misunderstand your description of the bug or I'm unable to reproduce the issue. Does this problem happen only randomly or do you have a way to reproduce the problem each time?
Thanks & Regards,
Martin
