Audio notification in BMW

Post by Coffeelover » 07 Sep 2017 10:10

Hello,

I'd like to get a audio notification when my phone is connected to my BMW. There is a workaround, using the phone speaker, but I often do not hear this, when my phone is in the arm rest (which is 95% of all time).

This works fine, if I use bluetooth as audio input, but not when using the car radio. Other Apps can use the "incoming phone function" to get audio focus independent of car audio source.
How do I have to set up this? If I'm of the option, that I've tried out every Audio stream option, but was not successful.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

You can try to use action Set Bluetooth SCO State along with option Start Bluetooth SCO to turn on this mode. You probably have to add an action Sleep: 5s to ensure that bluetooth is ready to play the sound. Please note that everything related to bluetooth and especially bluetooth SCO is quite unstable on many Android devices so it might not work well (or at all).

Regards,
Martin

Hi Martin,

fabulous! This works perfect.
For me (or within a BMW) a sleep duration of 1 sec is enough.
To make this post even more valueable for others coming up with the same question, I just want to add the following: One needs to set up for actions in sequence: 1. Start BT SCO 2. Sleepy x secs 3. Text to speach with sound source BT(SCO). 4. End BT SCO (which is needed to resume previous audio source and finish the call).

My hardware setting:
- Samsung Galaxy S7 / Android 7.0
- BMW with CIC Professional (F36, 2016)

Thanks and regards
Raiund
