Android App Shortcuts

Post by mathieson » 10 Mar 2019 03:48

Could we please get app shortcuts for Automatic like so:

Reason: Bixby can launch shortcuts on any Android app. If this were possible then we could launch any automatic flow directly from Bixby.

Thanks and regards,
Sam.

Did you try the action "Launch shortcut -> Build shortcut"?

You could also look for things with "Launch App -> Class name"

No, I don't mean launch from Automagic. I mean launch automagic flows from Bixby. For that app shortcuts are needed.

Not sure if this works but I heard that Bixby can launch apps so this helper app BroadcastSender might help:

Martin,

Bixby can indeed open apps, and this would work. However I am looking for a way to launch several flows. This is the reason for requesting Automagic have shortcuts. If we were able to create shortcuts (Tasker can assign tasks to the app shortcuts in settings) then we could launch tasks from Bixby quick actions.

Any chance this can be put into the development roadmap?

Perhaps a BroadcastSender app with shortcuts (say for example "shortcut 1" ..... "shortcut 20" to give room for growth) each broadcasting intents ("automagic 1" ..... "automagic 20").

This would allow more than one flow to be launched.

Thanks and regards,
Sam.

I am including some screenshots to make things a little clearer.

First set up tasker app shortcuts in tasker settings:

Then they should be available as app shortcuts:

After that open up Bixby routines:

And finally just select a shortcut:

Now Bixby can execute any Tasker Task.

I would like this to be possible for Automagic.

In bixby can you see "AM shortcut"? If yes then you can execute any Automagic flows.

1) Go to flow which you want to execute.
2) Select "Shortcut" trigger. Assign a name for shortcut in trigger.
3) Select "AM Shortcut" in bixby app.
Select shortcut name you have assigned.

Automagic provides a app shortcut named "AM Shortcut". So if you can add other app shortcuts then Automagic shortcut should be there.
