LED smart-bulb apps?
Is there any app that automagic can control out there? Like i want to get some lights for my house that automagic could set brightness on during the day via wifi or via sending a command to their app or such. My light in my room is very bright and sometimes at 7-8 AM i'd rather have something i could have automagic turn on with a dim setting, then brighter through the day, and on the opposite, maybe dim down as i get closer to bedtime.

One of the best smart bulb with good documentation is Yeelight : https://www.xda-developers.com/wake-up- ... -yeelight/
Just use the Yeelight plugin to do all the things in Automagic.
There is also custom software in PC to control it : https://forum.xda-developers.com/genera ... s-t3835792

Yeelight is a brand that manufactures all kinds of lights, which most of them connect via WiFi. With the app you can control them wirelessly, even when not connected to the same network the lamp is on. As @Desmanto said, you can integrate it with Automagic (originally intended for Tasker, but AM manages perfectly fine) with the Plugin action, to do things like turn lights on or off, change color temperature or even rgb color if supported, between other options.vidya31 wrote:What is this app about ?
As it has been discussed here: http://automagic4android.com/forum/view ... 3&start=20, and documented here: https://www.yeelight.com/download/Yeeli ... n_Spec.pdf it seems it is better to use tcp commands to communicate with the yeelight lights if you're in the same network (it doesn't work when not, so in that case use the plugin), as it allows you to control the lights more freely.
Re: LED smart-bulb apps?
i got a yeelight bulb, and it's neat to mess with via it's app, but when i click the plugin for automagic, it just opens the app. there's no options to feed back to automagic. it's like automagic just opened the yeelight app. and as for the "discussed here", it looks like some developer stuff. I just wanted something i could control via plugin not have to code an entire string of commands for a bulb..

Open it again (twice, consecutively). The second time, you'll be able to configure stuff and save the plugin's settings in AM. It's just how the plugin acts, normally (at least on any of my phones).
The discussion refers to the LAN control of the bulb (how to do it). Using the dedicated app (or the plugin), you'll be controlling the bulb from the cloud (internet). Both methods have advantages and disadvantages.

Oh, yes, forgot about it. If you want it to work inside your network with http requests you need to enable LAN access on the bulb, inside the app.elektroinside wrote:Open it again (twice, consecutively).
