Hi,
thanks for this great tool.
i just want turn on bluetooth when i leave my home-gsm-cell and turn it off when i reach my work-area-cell.
my problem is, that it only turn on or off bluetooth when i turn on my screen. even 1 second is enough. but it never works when my device is locked.
i tried to do the same with the location trigger. but it doesent work too.
i am using a galaxy s4 rooted.
do you have an idea how i can solve this ?
thanks in advance

Re: GSM cell does not trigger on locked screen
Hi,
Unfortunately it is a known issue that some devices don't update the cell information accessible to applications properly when the screen is turned off. The next version of Automagic will contain workarounds to periodically force a cell update.
You can already try some workarounds by creating a flow with a trigger Periodic Timer: every 5m and attach an action Turn Screen On: Bright and let this flow active whenever you need cell updates.
Another workaround involves to periodically register a location update in Android that possibly refreshes the cell information:
1) create a flow named Cell fix only consisting of a trigger Location
2) create a second flow that periodically turns the flow on for a few seconds and then turns the flow off again:
-trigger Periodic Timer: every 5m
-action Set Flow State: Enable Cell fix
-action Sleep: 5s
-action Set Flow State: Disable Cell fix
Increase the interval of the periodic timers to the maximum acceptable value to reduce battery consumption.

Martin
