Trigger App Task Ended doesn't work properly

Post by paardebloempje » 30 Jun 2013 19:54

Hi, I'm a newbie with Automagic, but I thinks it is a really handy app.

One of the first flows I tried to make was an automated time recorder with Gleeo when specific apps are activated.
Very easy as it seems, I met encounterd a small problem.

It is no problem to start recording in Gleeo when an app is started or when it is stopped.
However, when the recording is started in the flow, it doesn't trigger when it is ended (nor does the running status of the app change) until another app is started.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thnx!

I had similar probleme with Tasker thats why i move to Automagic because it work well (for everything i need). But it's seems it didn't work for you. Maybe we could help you better if you publish your flows?

Hi,

The combination of triggers (App Task Started/Ended) and actions (Gleeo Start/Stop Recording) is known to cause problems since Gleeo needs to be started to create an entry. In the worst case, this might even produce something like an endless loop (app started->flow executes->gleeo started->gleeo stopped->app started->flow executes->gleeo started etc.). Whether it will create a real endless loop depends on timing and device speed.

I would create a flow that writes start/end times of the app into a text file and once a day import this text file into Gleeo Time Tracker.

Regards,
Martin
