Location based flow

Post by Gemini » 16 Jul 2014 04:17

I want to make a network location based flow and a problem that I have is that I have a separate flow that turns data off when the screen goes off. When this happens doesn't that mean a network based location flow wouldn't be able to trigger? What would be the best way to remedy this? Should I stop the data off flow within the location flow? I think I'm over thinking this and I'm sure the answer is something obvious. Martin can you point me in the right direction? I've searched the forum but I didn't see anything pertaining to my problem.

It highly depends what you want to achieve with the location based flow. Could you describe the location based flow a bit? Is a wifi available when you need the location?
If you want to query the location periodically or very rarely you could simply enable mobile data in this flow, initialize the location variable and turn location off again afterwards. You could also build a flow that periodically turns on mobile data, sleeps a few seconds and then turns mobile data off again and hope that Androids location services notice this and determine the location at the right moment.
