Hello Dev.
I use this app for a while and the problem is Cell-ID triggering.
I have two different areas now in the app HOME and WORK with two different profiles.
At HOME i should be WIFI on en BT off
At WORK BT off WIFI off
inbetween (not connected to the cell for both areas) BT on.
After the first install it worked fine, when i drove out the area my phone switched to the BT on. at WORK it was also ok.
But it seems that something happend during the day, to much info from cells collected by the app or other things, BUT
NOW it changes only profiles when i turn on the screen, when it sleep nothing happens.
Same problems with same Profile apps like AUTOMATEIT and LLAMA
I have a DUAL SIM phone from CUBOT
Android 4.2
Do you have an solution.
Cell ID trigger problem

Re: Cell ID trigger problem
Hi,
It sounds like you have one of the devices that does not provide cell information reliably (or at all) when the screen is off. This is quite a common problem on Android and was probably introduced by Google on purpose to conserve battery power.
The triggers Phone Cell GSM/CDMA contains some options to work around this issue. I would first try to use Wake device every 5m to see if this helps. Force update might work on some devices. Turn Screen on should work on most phones but also consumes quite a bit of battery power.
Your dual SIM device could introduce yet another level of problems since the official Android API does not provide access to the second SIM so every manufacturer extends Android in some undocumented way to support the second SIM. Unfortunately there's not much I can do in Automagic as long as Google does not officially support multi-SIM devices.
Regards,
Martin

Re: Cell ID trigger problem
I have exact same issue with my CDMA phone and i used old android 4.1.2 Jellybean
I upgraded to 4.4.4 CayanogenMod but the problem did not go away.

App is absolutely useless without this feature working.

There's no other known workaround available. Of course you could also use one of the location-triggers that uses the built-in methods of the device or the methods provided by the Google play services (modern) to determine the location which could work more reliable but probably also consumes more battery than a simple cell trigger.
Please contact me at info@automagic4android.com if the workarounds do not work on your device and you have no other use for the app so I can issue a refund.
