GPS On/Off Root Access

Post by CUcaliber » 30 Apr 2013 16:09

I'm trying to turn On (or Off) the GPS when I open (or close) Navigation or Maps. I get a message that root access is required when I try to implement the GPS on/off. Is there a workaround for this or is it just not possible without root access? I tried looking for a post on this but was unsuccessful so I apologize if one already exists. Currently using the original Droid Razr (Verizon Wireless) and the current version of Automagic. Thanks for any information in advance.

It is generally not possible anymore without root access but some devices have a bug and allow it to be switched nevertheless. Please execute the action Set GPS State: On or Off (ignore the root warning) and see if it successfully changes the GPS setting.
